Angels for EOS Par-Tee for a Cure and Golf Tournament

This past weekend we had the pleasure of being a part of the Angels for EOS Par-Tee for a Cure and Golf Tournament. Amy, one of the two mom's who founded Angels for EOS, found us in the CRAVE Dallas book and approached us in April to help her plan the Par-Tee at Marie Gabrielle. We were immediately touched by Amy and Cindy's stories, their passion for helping find a cure for their sons and for many other people with Eosinophilic disorders. We were on board from the moment we met with them, and were so excited to have fun planning this Par-Tee as well as help an amazing cause! 


Amy came to us already knowing that she wanted the gala event to be "summer chic". Which we immediately loved! We decided on a clean, crisp, summery color palette of green and white with silver accents. We had a blast picking out linens and rentals (a fun funky lounge was a must), meeting with florist Deitra Butler of Lush Couture Floral and with lighting pros Jennifer Burns and Robert Winter from Beyond, tasting gelato and sorbet from Paciguo and popcorn flavors from Uptown Popcorn, to name just a few of the fun things we did planning this event. The day after the Par-Tee, Angels for EOS hosted a golf tournament at Tour 18 in Flower Mound. We had a blast "riding along", putting a few times, enjoying the gorgeous (but hot) day, and helping raise money for this fabulous cause. Here are a few of our iPhone photos from the golf tourney.

French Bohemian Wedding

We love this French bohemian wedding, and it’s beyond inspiring. The outdoor venue was perfect for catching the beauty of the sun for their pictures, and the stunning mature oak tree as their ceremony backdrop. Going along with the theme of their wedding, the bride chose natural décor for the centerpieces and carried a dried lavender bridal bouquet. This bohemian bride also wore a gorgeous floral headpiece that matched perfectly with her dress and her wedding style. To create a French bohemian wedding of your own, play off some of the ideas that this creative bride came up with. Some of our tips to create a French bohemian styled wedding such as this include; your hair style can go a long way for creating your wedding look by wearing it down and flowing to create the perfect natural look for your wedding day. Include decor with French writing, French style iron chairs, choose a wedding dress that is lacy, flowy, floral, has cinched areas, or all of the above. We hope this has sparked some inspiration and will help you plan for your fabulous French bohemian themed wedding.

Modern Royal Inspiration

In honor of the new Duke and Duchess we’ve created a royal inspiration board to help you have a royally inspired wedding of your very own. William and Kate’s wedding was extremely formal so we’ve created a board that is more modern and a bit less formal, but still classy. Inexpensive touches like a feathery hair piece for your bridesmaids or wearing knit gloves are things that will do wonders in creating that royal and elegant feel for your wedding. A little more expensive but definitely worth it would be using a more formal type of chair for the reception. We love the Victorian style chairs pictured below. Used at the dinner tables rather than just chair treatments, it’s an excellent way to make your wedding more upscale. William and Kate’s wedding ceremony within Westminster Abbey incorporated a lot of red, though we’ve chosen to do our royal wedding board with a simple grey, white, and an ashy blue. We think these toned down colors definitely create sophistication and a touch of formality, and that’s what a royally inspired wedding is all about.

Royal Wedding Details

After much anticipation Friday, the day of the royal wedding finally arrived! We were anxious to get a glimpse of Kate and her dress. Oh and William too! Riding in the Queen's classic 1977 Rolls-Royce Phantom Kate and her father Michael arrived at the church where she met up with her sister and maid of honor Pippa Middleton. Through the un-tinted windows of her car you could see the long-sleeved lace and ivory satin design by Sarah Burton which was much reminiscent of Grace Kelly. Prince William stood at the alter waiting for his bride wearing the full military uniform of an Irish Guards officer. Speaking of fashion, the UK really knows how to wear their hats, the Kentucky Derby woman have nothing on these royal fashionistas.

Unlike traditional weddings in the United States where the maid of honor and others in the bridal party go down the aisle before the bride in the processional, at the royal wedding they followed Kate down the aisle. As Kate walked the long red aisle runner she was in among eight twenty foot tall trees that she chose to be put inside Westminster Abbey creating a delicate eco-friendly vibe. She then planned to have the trees plant after the wedding, if nothing else it will be a reminder their love is always growing.

After the ceremony, just like his parents did at their wedding, William and Kate left in a horse drawn carriage to have their first public kiss as man and wife at Buckingham Palace. We got not one but two from the royal couple who were surrounded with what looked like millions of cheering people. We were happy to see the couple have a little fun and leave the Palace in an Aston Martin adorned with balloons and even a “just wed” license plate. Guests say William and his best man, brother Harry, gave entertaining and lighthearted speeches at the reception where they spent the rest of the night. Though we don’t know where they will be honeymooning at, it’s sure to be just as beautiful and extravagant as their wedding.

A Royal Occasion

It’s almost here, only a few days left until the royal wedding. After years of being together Kate Middleton will be officially joining the royal family when she and Prince William tie the knot on Friday April 29, 2011. To celebrate this day in history and the extravagant wedding, we’ve compiled a few pictures and interesting facts about Will and Kate’s upcoming nuptials. Notice how similar Prince William and Kate’s engagement picture is to his parents.

- Kate is only 29 years old but is still the oldest woman to ever be married into the royal family. Prince William’s mother, Princess Diana was just over 20 when she married his father back in the early 80s.

- Close to 4000 applications for street party licenses have been submitted from the public for them to celebrate the joyous occasion in their own way.

- It seems they are being smart and taking steps to make their marriage last, like waiting a little longer to get married. As well as they are allegedly signing a pre-nup.

- Rather than getting gifts they have chosen to ask guests to donate to one, or some, of the 26 chosen charities.

- Prince William will not wear a ring after their upcoming marriage, but Kate will wear rather a gold ring passed down to William from the Queen.

- Guests who have participated in the military will be asked to wear their dress uniform, while woman can wear elegant afternoon dresses with or without a smart coat and hat.

- William and Kate's wedding reception will have 600 chosen guests who will enjoy a lunchtime buffet, where as his parents Charles and Diana who celebrated with only 120 guests.
